I Was on TV a Fifth Time

Random Life Update!!

***I Was on TV... A Fifth Time***

Good Morning ladies and gentlereaders! I am back again to low-key brag about my TV appearances on national Costa Rican programming lol. Nah, to be honest this is more for documentation purposes and I have friends who like when I share these such occasions. So without further ado, let's get the ball rolling on my 5th though technically 4th TV appearance.

So as usual I am portraying another family name in the genealogy based show, "Linajes", this time we did the last name Philips, which is a pretty uncommon last name in a latino country, as we researched this, we found that the Philips "clan" of sorts, had quite the unexpected journey before becoming a staple in Costa Rica, making stops in both Bosnia and Scotland.

The filming took place in this small clearing next to a grassy downward slope, here's a quick picture to illustrate the dangers that we as historical re-actors have to tackle to bring you such quality programming lol;

So as you can clearly see, we had to brave past drug-addict homesteads, venomous wildlife, and clearly real assassination attempts. This is no joke friends, this serene-looking clearing in the woods, was more sinister than your old school fairy tales, and I am talking before Walt Disney turned them into colorful, happy ending bonanzas!!

Regardless we do this all for you, you sweet, curious public ♥. With all that said I will quit stalling and present you with the Philips' episode of Linajes (and yes, I too think my wife is a descendant from Pixar's Brave.);

Link: Philips' fantastical beginnings

With all that said and done I hope you enjoy this small bite of my sandwich of future stardom haha, by the way, in case you are impatient, my scenes begin at around the 4 minute mark, again apologies that it is in Spanish, but hey maybe you'll understand a thing or two.

As always I am open to any criticism on my tv reenactment skills, or lack thereof, not only this but I appreciate those who decided to watch and support the national channel, even if you didn't understand a thing.

Much Love,

Wachi

I was on TV A Fourth Time

Random Life Update!!

***I Was on TV... A Fourth Time***

Aye Readers, sorry I have been so inconsistent on here, but a lot has happened within this month. First and foremost, I was asked to be on TV a fourth time and was filmed, alas due to the champion's league they never released it, but it was there and I was in it, thankfully I do have a couple of pictures from the day should any of you be curious.

This time filming took place on a farm, so naturally before filming started I got acquainted with the locals, goats are friendly, at least the baby ones were :)
<-- These two avian ruffians however were not as friendly as the little goat, they ran that turf and I knew I had to watch myself around them.

The last name we were filming was the Campos family and their origins in Costa Rican ancestry, their story wasn't all that interesting I must say, but then again I had a boss with the last name Campos and he was pretty boring too, sooo maybe it all makes sense lol.

<-- Here is the typical onset selfie that these life update posts have become so accustomed to sharing, it was nice getting to meet new cast mates for this experience, even if it didn't get any attention due to the soccer matches it is still a fun experience.

Last but not least, dwn a ways from the farm where we filmed there was some thick woods and a river, where they decided to film more scenes. It all went well with the exception of when we started back up and out of the woods to get back to the farm, I felt a sharp sting on my arm and fund I had an allergic reaction to something in those woods. With this new mutation I thought we could put a spin on the Campos origin story of them being lizard men, but the director wasn't having it. lol

ere is the mutation in case anyone is curious;
 <--- Armformer! More than meets the eye!
Armformer, swelling bigger than my thigh!
The woods are dangerous to walk with skin exposed the Plantcepticons!! *AHEM* anyways that's that for the tv spot but it's not all for my life update, becauuuuse...

***I Am Now ITIL Certified***

Yes, you read that right my readers, those of ou who may have been following me for the past few months kno that the thing that took up a lot of my time was studying for the ITIL certification exam, well I just wanted to say I fially took it and I passed the darn thing freeing myself from the shackles it created, and having that burden on my back means that blog updates should begin to be more frequent and concise

Well with all that said and done, I will end this brief life update, stay tuned because there is more to come, and soon! :)

Much Love,

Wachi

I Was On TV (A Third Time)

Random Life Update!!

***I Was on TV... A Third Time***

Can you believe it readers!? Despite my ugly mug poisoning national TV two times previously, I was called to appear yet again, it's like they enjoy the torture haha!! Any whom, this time it was the 50th episode special of the show, and we answered the decades old question, "Are there Jewish roots in Costa Rica?"

***Spoilers***
There are. But they aren't as obvious as one may think. Now I do apologize since it is a national show it is all in Spanish, but should you have any questions on what is or isn't discussed please let me know and I will do my best to answer you.

Fun Fact: I was told to wear a dessert headdress for the entire hour and a half before I filmed my scene so my hair looks like a mess for that reason, in case anyone was wondering why I looked like I just got out of bed.

Here is a couple of pictures as to how I looked with a headdress, before it was violently removed from my character;

Anyhow enough with my creepy Jewish glare, and on with the show, my brief scene appears at around the 6 minute mark, again apologies that it is in Spanish, but hey maybe you'll understand a thing or two.

As always I am open to any criticism on my tv reenactment skills, or lack thereof.

Anyhow, that was my jewtastic televised adventure last week, I appreciate those who decided to watch and support the national channel, even if you didn't understand a thing.

Much Love,

Wachi

I Was On TV (Again)

Random Life Update!!

***I Was on TV... Again***

Heyyyooooo All!! I know this seems like the most pretentious post in the existence of my blog, but this is more like a TV diary entry sort of thing for myself that I also happen to share with you all.... Again. Just as before I was contacted by my theater professor and they requested myself and my cousin to film for a 2 part series (I'm only in part 2 so you won't need to deal with my awkward marshmallow self for long). Now unlike the first occurrence, this character is much more calm, family man, wealthy, and the like, not as much "action" as my first "performance" as it were.

The story of this one is for the family name now known as the Murillos, who were actually 2 rival families with secondary last names, however both their primary names were Murillo, and this is their story of rivalry, treachery, and growth.

*Fun Fact: Did you know I had actually been told to work from home last week for this day, which was a coincidence as my professor called me and my cousin about a last minute cast requirement; should I have been at the office our performance would not have been ours, it would have been someone else, possibly Jackie Chan, but what can you do? haha

As usual here are some onset pictures;

The Murillo men; Or the Murillo Mafia as I like to think of them, despite being military and not gang related.
Me and the brother cousin random collage + insect ♥

...And last but not least the Greenest set yet :D there were grasshoppers everywhere, really cool. (Also there looks to be an entrance to Narnia in the back)
*Fun Fact: Another super fun fact, the pants I was given were continuously being pulled down by my boots, this was an incredibly difficult and awkward situation to be in when filming.

Well, I will now shut up and leave the clip for you all to view and enjoy or complain as it is in Spanish.

As you can see, my character was pretty chill in regards to last time's pirate adventure, but still an enjoyable experience!

*Fun Fact: Final fun fact here, my grandpa's second last name is Murillo, so believe it or not, this story does pertain to my ancestors from my great grandma's side, so that's really cool.

Anyhow, that was my adventure last week, thanks for sticking around, if anyone has any fun tv tips/criticisms or a story they'd like to share I'd love to hear it.

Much Love,
Wachi

I Was On TV

Random Life Update!!

***I Was on TV last week***

Hey howdy hey my cool cats and hip hyenas! Just wanted to log a somewhat out of the blue event in my life; which if it wasn't clear is the fact that I was invited to do a shout for a historical re-enactment for a national TV station here in Costa Rica known as "Informe 11". In case you are curious, the basic concept of the show is to do a dramatization of family names that are now found in our country and how they came to be; for example in our scenario it was two Irish men who were abducted by pirates and when they managed to escape after 2 years of capture they washed up in Costa Rica to start a new life, and therefore this new family lineage was born.

*Fun Fact: I love acting/theater, but I hate watching myself, so despite being pretty comfortable in front of a camera, I had no desire to watch myself lol.

Here's some pictures of me in costume/on the "set" because just text is boring to look at;

Obligatory Selfie

It's seriously scenes like this that make one reconsider working in an office, all the beautiful things one misses out on for stability.

As you can imagine wearing 3 layers of clothing and running around on the beach isn't the most comfortable experience but I'd be lying if I didn't admit I had a blast doing it, and I was blessed that my boss allowed me to miss this day at the office for this opportunity. The whole process took around 5 hours, but I met a lot of interesting people that day.

What? You want me to shut up and actually see the clip? Ugh... fine... here it is, it's in Spanish but I think it's pretty easy to understand, this episode was focused on the origin of 2 family names, Cartín and Amores;

Well, what did you think, I am beyond open to any constructive criticism. I felt I was a bit too exaggerated especially since the others seemed lax with a lot of the stage direction, regardless, I was told that they loved the way I handled myself and would like to have me in a future episode, which I'm not going to lie had me squealing like a schoolgirl.

Anyhow, that was my adventure last week, thanks for sticking around, if anyone has any fun tv tips/criticisms or a story they'd like to share I'd love to hear it.

Much Love,
Wachi
