MS Paint Mondays 43

Readers! What's that up in the sky? Is it a bird? A plane? Huh? what do you mean you are indoors and can't see the sky at the moment?? Well run to the window!! RUUUN!!!! Ugh, forget about it, it's gone now. Anyhow, we are back for SUPER MS Paint Monday!!

--Thoughts of the day--

* So I am pretty hype this week, Captain America: Civil War releases and I am excited, already got tickets to go watch it on Sunday, and I will be off the web avoiding spoilers in the meantime lol.

* Not only this but the new Hearthstone expansion is out this week (tomorrow in fact) and despite me disliking a couple of the nerfs made, I am pretty hype to see how the pirate meta has evolved, and if not, I have also been running raptor rogue as of late (I may make a decklist later if people care).

* So overall my thought process has also gone to a slightly more somber space, in what is Costa Rica's situation as of late, with a slew of national holidays having passed in the last few weeks, I come to realize that unlike superheroes, our country isn't very super at all. All these wars we fought for our independence to grow and be better, and we are still in 3rd world status, and that's out own damn fault.

* In the end I feel that change has to come from one's self and bravery, but this isn't just speaking up, go, go on your own way, become who you want to, and come back and just do! Just do what will help others, don't ask, don't fill out forms, just do it. Like Panama with their metro station, they didn't want it, but they made it anyways and now everyone loves it. Basically be the hero that other's don't want, or necessarily deserve, that is super.

*AHEM* Anyways, before this turns into a Wachi's rants I will move along with this week's MS Paint, "Losa Brigade!" Now, the Losa Brigade is a team of supers I created back in early high school and so seeing as super heroes are the in thing, I thought I'd draw them again, fun fact, I first drew them during a mindless doodle session induced by having one of our teachers put on the movie "Bring it on", basically seeing, the cheerleaders all in the same uniforms doing cool flips, inspired my subconscious to create these misshapen heroes in matching uniforms. (Coolest origin story ever, I know.)

As always, I hope this exercise helps you ease that weekly case of the Mondays and inspires you to start creating new things, and really help expand the creative construct that is your brain! I encourage you to share/send me your own MS Paint Monday creations, if I get enough I plan to do an MS Paint showcase at the end of every week so we can enjoy each other's styles and imaginations.

Mega MS Paint Monday Megamix (38 - 42)

Readers, I have no words other than the fact that I have been bogged down by life and work, however I have more than enough paints to make up for my absence. Now, I will be honest, I am low on sleep so I can't think of anything witty to say other than welcome to "MS Paint (Not-so)Mondays!!!"

--Thoughts of the day--

* Remember that stressful ITIL training I mentioned I was doing before? Yeah well it turns out another company yanked our training from the program so we wasted all that training time as no one could finish the material, hoo-ray! *grumble* *grumble*

* So with all the meetings and changes going on at my work currently, my mind has gone all over the place, and therefore my inspirations for these next few paints escapes me, but I am happy because it's Friday and I will get to sleep, so that must count for a thought of the day.. no? Well tough guacamole buddy!

With that in mind, huh? What do you mean with WHAT in mind?? Oh well whatever, one of this week's paints titled "Red Eyes" and it was birthed by a flashback to High school theater, when some good friends of mine and I tried to re-write the confusing film Red Eye starring Cillian Murphy, since none of us really understood it. It was basically nonsense, about a red eyed hacker hacking a hotel airplane that caused land sharks and mole people to commence an attack on humanity.... I am aware that that makes even less sense than the original premise, but hey sometimes, cluttered is memorable no? Well if not, then this clustered post will be a failed mess lolol.

Moving on, the second paint this week is a little more self-explanatory with its simple title of "Office Pranks" where I illustrate an experience where I actually flipped out over a fake coffee spill prank, I felt so lame, but it was so well done I couldn't be mad, I just needed to draw it. Simple paint is simple.

For ms paint numero tres, I have represented the 2 biggest mascots in Costa Rican soccer, the Liga's Lion and Saprissa's Monster. Now, I myself am not huge on soccer, never have been, in fact at age 6 my little league soccer coach told me I had no future in the sport, JUST.LIKE.THAT. However since the Liga is my home town's team I support them and root for them when they play, and it is officially, along with their rival Saprissa, the best team in Costa Rica, and a match between these two teams is always referred to as a "Clasico" or classic, a game where the stadiums will usually fill up and end with half partying and the other half sulking. Last clasico that took place Saprissa won unfortunately, though fortunately for me that means my home town was quiet and I could sleep peacefully lolol.

For number 4 of my ms paint megamix, is another flashback inspired paint titled ¨Skool Nurse¨, the story behind this one was at a time where I had to go to the school nurse and when she walked passed me to call me in for my appointment, she tripped in front of me, but she caught herself in the process, so instead of hitting the floor she simply choose to regain consciousness in the oddest manner, she literally dragged her foot, and let out a disgruntled moan, this zombie like walk cycle still makes me giggle to this day.

Last but not least moving along with the flashback inspired paint ideas that have quickly overtaken this long post, I give you "Pepsi Gym Emulation" this particularly sloppy paint is purposely done so, so as to faithfully represent this  art festival doodle that was once found in our high school. The year was 2008, the Gym lobby had full art on display, all very colorful, inked, and well crafted, well all except a piece titled, ¨Pepsi Gym¨, it depicted a sloppily done pencil drawing of a can of Pepsi working out. It spoke to me, it proved to me that sometimes less, truly is more, and therefore I created the fanart shown above, to always. remember such a classic moment... And with that long list of paints, I leave you.
As always, I hope this exercise helps you ease that weekly case of the Mondays and inspires you to start creating new things, and really help expand the creative construct that is your brain! I encourage you to share/send me your own MS Paint Monday creations, if I get enough I plan to do an MS Paint showcase at the end of every week so we can enjoy each other's styles and imaginations.(My apologies a final time for the long, loooong, delay in regards to MS Paint Mondays.)

Wachi's Rants: That Tubman on that 20!

Good day readers, so I know I have been absent and I know my MS Paint Mondays have all but vanished from your weekly lives, but I promise you I will get back into the swing of things soon, life has simply been a bit hectic as of late. Anyhow, before I get back to the MS Paint and joys of the world, I have something else to rant about, and it's something that people are hollering about with big smiles and joy filled back-flips, I'm sure, but me, I don't see the point. Now what is this amazing phenomena that I am referring to? Well, it's the fact that Harriet Tubman is gonna be on that twenty dolla bill babeh!!

That's right, Andrew Jackson is getting the boot and the vast majority on social media seems to be ecstatic by this fact! Oh, happy days, right?

Well, maybe, I mean normally I wouldn't care who is on currency, I mean Costa Rica has monkeys and deer on their currency along with political figureheads. But I love how the male representation who was decided to be replaced was one of the few presidents to stand against the federal reserve, famously saying things such as "The Bank is trying to kill me - but I will kill it!" and "If the American people only understood the rank injustice of our money and banking system - there would be a revolution before morning..." now to be fair Hamilton also was opposed to this idea, however, a lucky Broadway musical hit "saved" his removal lol.

Yay for the arts right? Haha anyways, I'm not bashing Harriet Tubman, in fact she is an amazing civil rights figure and one that should be praised for aiding all those slaves with the use of the underground railroad. But, why are we spending time and resources to "fix" this piece of paper currency?? Seriously, we are eliminating a man who called out the central banking system and he is being removed, out of sight out of mind right? Not only that but now these super awesome self-proclaimed progressives litter the streets and social media and they consider it a victory for diversity and women! Woo-hoo! Except, not really... Let's be honest, who here feels more important and validated in their society simply because of the race and gender of the person printed on their currency? Anyone?

I mean, if it's about getting a woman on American currency, this isn't the first time one has been, a simple look back in history would show that there were once a Susan B Anthony dollar coin, but it died out, and I'm sorry for that, but did that coin change anyone's life or outlook on themselves and each other? Not really, well at least I have never heard of anyone changing entire belief systems simply due to a coin.

My point is, demanding diversity is one thing, but how will this diversity help all those who are suffering? The bank is still getting their way as it was back then, being PC won't solve this, no matter how much many like to pretend it will. But whatever, "nice" work America.

(Also isn't it kind of racist that they announced this on 4/20, for a black person to be on the 20 dollar bill, you know them being stereotyped as marijuana dealers so often, also she was the 5th born, that said 4 siblings before her... 4 and 20... smh, maybe I'm just looking too deep into this lol)

All in all, thanks again for making it to the end of my word vomit, I appreciate it. Now go back to the bill Mr. Jackson! TO THE BACK!! #ReverseRosaParksLyfe

Much Love,
Wachi
